Remote monitoring/access
Using wireless technology, camera views can be monitored remotely using a device such as a hand held computer. Facial and Number plate matches can also be sent to the device from computers located in the control room.
A wireless LAN is ideal for any area from a single shop floor, a multi storey department store or an entire shopping centre. If operators have to travel further afield and still need the benefits of remote monitoring, other transmission technologies can be used. With secure transmission methods, such as 128-bit encryption, all data is protected.
Remote monitoring gives the ability to work away from the control room, and still receive full colour images at near real time. This means that a security guard never needs to go to an incident blind, as he can be guided by the pictures from the hand held device, and supported by a radio link from the control room.
Combine the roaming capability with the power to track an individuals movements by selecting and controlling pan, tilt and zoom cameras, and the total flexibility of the system takes CCTV monitoring into a new dimension.
In some retail environments, there is simply not enough staff to properly monitor CCTV images as in a traditional CCTV control room, and video images become a reference to look at after an incident has occurred.
With remote monitoring, any CCTV system is immediately pro-active, as pictures can be dealt with by staff on the shop floor as incidents happen. Linked to our face Recognition package, images of known offenders can be sent to a hand held computer before an incident has happened.
